The botryoidal formation is very defined and ranges in various size and density over the specimen  giving the piece wonderful texture;  the color ranges from deep steel gray to iridescent silver.  It is stable,  not crumbly and the color does not rub off.  Many collectors do not give goethite any consideration as a collectable mineral; this one might provide reason to reconsider.
